Powers off the deep end

Kirsten Powers, the right’s favorite Liberal, did that Liberal thang and offered Conservatives some unsolicited advice on how to right our sinking ship (you see what I did there? I hope you did):

The real reason that unmarried women prefer the Democratic Party over the Republican Party is because they don’t have a spouse to help carry the load, so the government becomes the only safety net they have, and they view it as a good in the world. They live with an economic vulnerability that most men and even many married women will never experience. If they lose their job, their children don’t eat—unless, of course, the government provides them with some help. They aren’t “moochers,” they aren’t “sluts” for having out-of-wedlock sex, and they aren’t dummies driven by emotion.

I love it when Liberals offer Conservatives advice – as Charlie Sheen said in Hot Shots, “It’s kind of like nailing your sister…” Well, only kind of, but I had to get that in there.

A confession, albeit a very tenuous one – I don’t know Kirsten Powers, but we have a mutual friend, and that friend is not only one of my favorite people in the whole wide world, that friend is also one of the better people I’ve ever know. She speaks highly of Kirsten Powers, so politics aside, I always cut Powers a break because of how my friend has spoken of her over the years.

[Humorously, Crunkster E has the same mutual friend, though I doubt he's spoken with her in 20 years /brex]

Okay, that goofiness out of the way…

Having sex out of wedlock is quite fun, but if you’re a woman and you get pregnant, yeah, it’s sort of slutty. I applaud any woman who brings a child into the world as opposed to killing said child, but by doing so, the woman is taking part in the Leading Cause of Poverty merry-go-round – children born out of wedlock to single mothers are as guaranteed to live in poverty as those children in Africa always being filmed in mudholes. Or, as the wisdom of the Internet goes regarding the unfairness of manly studliness versus womanly sluttiness, “A key that opens a lot of locks is a master key; a lock that’s opened by a lot of keys is worthless.”

By definition, if you want the government to supply you or your children with food, clothing, housing, phone, power, Internet, etc, you are a moocher. That’s what moochers are – they expect other people to pay for their shit. I pay for my own shit – that’s why I’m not called a moocher. My cousin who takes food stamps because she’s an idiot, she’s a moocher. She may not be a bad person, but she is a moocher.

Ayn Rand, as we all know now, divided Liberals into two groups – Moochers and Looters. Looters, agents of the government, take wealth by force, while Moochers, private citizens, religious types, NGO-types, et al, take it by guilt. No matter how the wealth is being taken, it is immoral. Yes, taking food stamps is mooching, I don’t care how hungry your children are. Yes, being on Medicaid is mooching, I don’t care how sick your children are. You, taking what you have not earned to better your life, health, situation etc may be behaving in a common sense manner, but you’re still a mooch.

And yes, women who vote for Democrats because of silly “War on Women” memes are dummies. Idiots. Morons. Perfectly fuckable, perfectly pretty, perfectly perfect jackanapes of the lowest order. Thinking you should vote for a Donkey because the GOP is going to tae your birth control and infanticide rights away is so far out of the realm of plausible that yes, you should not be allowed to vote. You are literally that fucking stupid.

As for the paternalism offered by the government, allow me to trot out this oldie-but-goodie: the government that can give you anything you want can take away everything you have.

Finally, Powers speaks of the gender pay gap as though it’s fact, and GOPers who won’t recongize it are basically burning witches. Here is a very simple economic truth: if it were cheaper to employ women than men in almost any field, then in almost any field, more women than men would be employed in said pursuit. Powers’ assertion is not only false, it’s delusional.

And yeah, I’ll go down with the ship of truth before sailing the seven seas on the magical hovercraft of lies that Liberal womynz continue to sell.
