You may or may not know who Marissa Mayer is – shortcut: money, business-wise, she’s the most successful woman under 40 on the planet. Normally, this shit’s dullsville for me, but in this case, I make an exception:
“I think that for me, it’s God, family and Yahoo—in that order,”said the new chief executive referencing the Vince Lombardi trinity. (Her first son Macallister was born September 30). Mayer spoke at a Fortune Most Powerful Women event, an invitation-only dinner in Palo Alto that took place Tuesday evening.
Since arriving from Google (GOOG) last July, Mayer has taken several steps to turn Yahoo (YHOO) around. She brought in a new chief marketing officer and heads of sales and HR, among other executives. She’s also made efforts to boost employee morale by instituting free lunches and handing out iPhones, Android devices and Windows-powered phones to staffers.
MM was an early exec at Google, and now she’s the CEO at Yahoo (yep, that’s still a thing). My point in posting about her here, without bias, is that she’s had the gall to spit out a kid that’s easy to deal with.
This has rankled some womynz.
Oh, and this.
And yeah, this.
Duuuude. This is hysterical. MM – I repeat myself – is literally (or arguably) the most successful XX capitalist on the planet. She’s my age, or a year younger. She seems thin, has blonde hair, and has a baby. And womnyz are going berzerker about her ease of childrearing.
I get it, in the sense that I know (of) Alpha Moms, and all the moms that resent them Those Alpha Moms, who raise children, marathon, look great and whose kids all seem soooo … well-behaed (I’m thinking of one off-hand, but they’re not that rare). Most moms aren’t like that, and most kids aren’t like that. As I told my girl who sent this my way, why would anyone be surprised that a thin, blonde gal my age (ie under 40) who was the most successful of her gender on the planet would somehow birth a child and it be rather easy? I don’t know MM personally, professionally or any other way, but I know what she’s done with her life – I’m not shocked her motherhood has been effortless thus far.
For those who want to hate, wait for her offspring’s teenage years, and have at it.
